Wayne Johnston
It was started on the idea of filling a need for heavy repair between Duncan and Nanaimo. It was quickly apparent that there was a lack of RV chassis repair shops on Vancouver Island. Wayne took the steps to become a Spartan Chassis Warranty Center and soon after a Fleetwood Warranty Center. Today Van Isle Truck Tech welcomes RVs of all sizes and shapes, from Class A to Class C, and continues to service all types of commercial vehicles including fire apparatus.
Owner/Manager Wayne Johnston has been in the commercial truck industry for over 20 years. Over the years he has obtained his Red Seal in Commercial Transport mechanics and Heavy Duty mechanics. He is a licensed Commercial Vehicle Inspector while Van Isle Truck Tech is a Designated Inspection Facility.
In Wayne’s spare time, he is currently Chief Training Officer at Ladysmith Fire & Rescue, and has held various officer ranks within the fire department over his 16 year career.
Wayne and co-owner Debbie live in beautiful Ladysmith B.C. on Vancouver Island. Debbie is involved with marketing, also working as a parts runner and office assistant.
